What do you need to apply for an Indian Visa?
To apply for an Indian visa, you will need to provide the following:
-Your passport with at least six months remaining validity
-One 2×2 inch photograph
-Proof of your citizenship (e.g. a copy of your birth certificate or your ID card)

-Money payment in the amount of Rs. 800/- for single applicant and Rs. 1,200/- for couple/family
-Medical insurance policy valid for three months after return from India

Types of Indian Visas
As a visitor to India, you may need a visa to enter the country. Indian visas are classified according to your nationality and type of visit.

How long is it valid?
The validity of an Indian visa for a German citizen is 90 days from the date of issuance. The documents required for an Indian visa are a passport valid for at least six months beyond the period of intended stay in Germany and two copies of the photo page of your passport. If you are travelling to India on business, you will need to present proof of your company’s registration with the authorities in India.
Documents required for an Indian Visa application
As per the Indian Embassy in Berlin, an individual must have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the planned period of stay in India. Additionally, the applicant must present a visa application form and two recent passport-style photographs.
The applicant’s photocopies of all pages of the passport including both front and back sides should be provided to support proof of identity. The applicant must also provide a document showing sufficient financial resources to cover their expenses while in India for the stated duration. In addition, applicants are required to provide evidence of onward travel arrangements.
Proof of vaccination against hepatitis B and tetanus is also required for those travelling to rural areas or any part of India where these diseases are prevalent. Finally, applicants are advised to bring documents that support their claim to being a member of an Indian minority community.
